Namona Griffin, MSOM, affectionately known as Mona, is the Family Engagement Assistant for Minus 9 to 5. She believes her calling is to work with families with young children, working in tandem with them to help their children thrive. She began her career working with at- risk youth, as a middle school teacher in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. She also worked as a Parent Educator; ensuring babies meet developmental milestones, with Healthy Families Charlotte. Before landing at EVMS, Minus 9 to 5, Mona worked at the Department of Human Services in Chesapeake, serving unstable-housing and foster care populations. Mona graduated from Western Kentucky University with an undergraduate degree in English Language with a concentration in Journalism and Secondary Education. She has a Master’s in Organizational Management from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In her spare time, Mona loves to read, travel and visit wineries. She is from Louisville, Kentucky. She is married and has one son, named London.
