Navine Fortune, EdD
Navine Fortune, EdD, is our Quality Assurance and Data Manager. Previously, Dr. Fortune was a Quality Improvement Coordinator. She also directed the Child Development Lab School at Norfolk State University, served as a committee member on the School Readiness Committee, and was a stakeholder of Virginia's Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS). She began her career over 28 years ago with Head Start and enjoys facilitating professional development and coaching opportunities in the field. Dr. Fortune believes every child deserves a champion and has developed a passion for Advocacy and Public Policy. She serves as the President of the Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children (VAAEYC) and previously served as the association’s Advocacy and Public Policy Lead. Dr. Fortune earned an undergraduate degree in interdisciplinary studies from Cambridge College, a master's degree in education from Liberty University, and a doctoral degree in early childhood education from Walden University.
