Our Staff

Navine Fortune, EdD is our Quality Assurance and Data Manager. Previously, Dr. Fortune was a Quality Improvement Coordinator. She also directed the Child Development Lab School at Norfolk State University, served as a committee member on the School Readiness Committee, and was a stakeholder of Virginia's Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS). She began her career over 26 years ago with Childhelp Headstart and enjoys facilitating professional development and coaching opportunities in the field. Dr. Fortune believes every child deserves a champion and has developed a passion for Advocacy and Public Policy. She serves as Public Policy Lead for the Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children, where she acts and serves on behalf of educators, young children and their families in the Commonwealth. Dr. Fortune earned an undergraduate degree in interdisciplinary studies from Cambridge College, a master's degree in education from Liberty University, and a doctoral degree from Walden University with a concentration in early childhood education.
